Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier could be back on Napoli’s radar.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United have opened talks about a deal to sign Napoli full back Elseid Hysaj – and Kieran Trippier is back on the radar as a replacement.
United are in the market for a right back this summer, and having hit a brick wall in their attempts to sign Crystal Palace ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, they’re now looking at alternatives.
Napoli star Hysaj is allegedly the new name on the wish list, and talks have allegedly been opened as the Red Devils eye a deal to bring the Albanian international to Old Trafford.
If Napoli sell the 25-year-old, they’ll need to bring in a replacement, and the report notes that Tottenham’s Trippier would be back on Carlo Ancelotti’s wish list.
Napoli already have cover in new signing Giovanni Di Lorenzo, but would seemingly want a proven right back as first-choice, and that’s where Trippier would come in.
Tottenham should be open to selling Trippier this summer. He suffered a disappointing campaign after the highs of the World Cup last summer, and at 28, he’s unlikely to get any better.

Offloading Trippier may give Tottenham the ammunition to go after a younger right back like Norwich City’s Max Aarons, whilst also getting rid of the former Burnley man before his value diminishes as he heads towards his 30’s.
The Sun recently noted that Napoli had moved on from Trippier due to his age, but these new reports may give Spurs another chance to cash in – and whilst he’s been a fine servant in his four years at Tottenham, it may well be time for Trippier to move on.
