Manchester United are reportedly trying to do a deal with Bayern.
Signs have continued to point over the last week to a potential swap between Manchester United and Tottenham for Toby Alderweireld and Anthony Martial.
Both players are unhappy at their clubs and The Mirror report Alderweireld is hoping to force a United move before the deadline.
Spurs would want the disgruntled Anthony Martial in return, but United are not keen on selling to a Premier League rival.
That is why the Red Devils are lining up another swap deal… with Bayern Munich.
The move would see United land a top defender the same age as Alderweireld, and get rid of Martial to a club where he is unlikely to come back and haunt them.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho was shown up last season by his former Chelsea stars Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah tearing up the Premier League.
Letting Martial loose to Spurs could have similarly embarrassing repercussions, and it makes sense for United to try and move him to Germany instead.
