Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing the Barcelona ace.

Ivan Rakitic #4 of Barcelona celebrates his goal with teammates Neymar #11 and Luis Suarez #9 in the first half against the Real Madrid during their International Champions Cup 2017 match...

According to Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, Manchester United will battle Manchester City in the summer for the signature of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The 30-year-old moved to the Camp Nou from Sevilla in the summer of 2014, and he has gone on to become one of the Catalan giant’s most important players.

Ivan Rakitic of FC Barcelona looks on during a training session at FC Barcelona Sports Centre on May 26, 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.

He can play anywhere from the deep-lying midfield role to the more advanced number 10 position, and his superb range of passing, combined with his cool and composed nature when in possession makes him one of the best players on the continent in his position.

Diario Gol claim that Jose Mourinho sees Rakitic as the ideal summer signing, and has told Barcelona to name their price for the Croatian, but the Red Devils will face competition from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for his signature.

Ivan Rakitic of Barcelona celebrates as he scores their second goal during the La Liga match between Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona at Estadio Bernabeu on April 23, 2017 in Madrid, Spain.

The former Sevilla man is under contract with Barca until the summer of 2021, and is valued at £39.8 million, according to Transfer Markt.

Money is not an issue for either of the Manchester clubs, and Rakitic will surely prove to be a wonderful acquisition for whichever team wins the race for his signature, if he does in fact leave the Camp Nou in the summer.
