Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Axel Tuanzebe’s progress at Aston Villa closely.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering handing Axel Tuanzebe a first-team chance next season and has sent his scouts to keep a close eye on the defender’s form at Aston Villa, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (28/4; page 59).
The youngster returned to Villa for a second loan spell in the summer. He has made 24 Championship appearances for Dean Smith’s men, who are unbeaten in their last 12 games and have booked their play-off spot.
The Sun reported last month that the Red Devils were set to allow Tuanzebe to stay at Villa Park for another year in the summer. But it now appears that Solskjaer could have had a change of heart.
The Sun on Sunday (28/4; page 59) is now reporting that the Manchester United boss has sent his scouts to watch the 21-year-old as he considers handing him a chance at Old Trafford next term.

It is going to be a key summer for United, with their form in recent weeks highlighting how much work Solskjaer and the board need to do over the coming months, particularly at the back.
Tuanzebe has arguably impressed enough with the Villans to deserve a chance for his parent club. But United’s reported plans for the starlet perhaps add to the pressure on Smith’s men to make sure that they get promoted.
Solskjaer may perhaps decide that Tuanzebe is not quite ready for United, but needs to play at the highest level before the situation is reviewed again next summer. So it would be little surprise if Villa needed to go up to make sure that they are in the running to secure his signature for a third time.
