According to the Daily Record, Manchester United tonight sent a scout to watch Celtic striker Moussa Dembele against Ross County – only for him to be named on the bench.
Celtic took on Ross County in the Scottish Premiership this evening, and coasted to a 4-0 victory just days after beating Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish League Cup.

Goals from Patrick Roberts, Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair put Celtic 3-0 up before Moussa Dembele notched a fourth to seal a comprehensive win for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Intriguingly, the Daily Record report that Manchester United sent a scout to watch the game this evening, with striker Moussa Dembele the subject of their interest.

Dembele, 20, has been a revelation for Celtic since joining the club from Fulham over the summer, with tonight’s goal against Ross County taking his tally to 15 goals in 20 games for the Bhoys.
The French hitman is unsurprisingly attracting interest off the back of his goalscoring exploits, and Manchester United are believed to have joined the race. There’s just one problem; Dembele wasn’t in tonight’s starting line-up.

Stephen McCarthy, the United scout in attendance tonight, didn’t get to see a full game of Dembele, but the young striker did come on after 58 minutes and managed to bag himself another goal, meaning he may have done enough to impress.
Celtic are bound to charge a huge fee for any team attempting to sign Dembele, but United have the funds to test Celtic’s resolve – and tonight’s scouting mission appears to be a case of United looking for more young attacking talent to go along with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
