Manchester United are back in for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United have re-opened talks over a deal to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic in a bid to cap off Jose Mourinho’s summer spending.
The Red Devils play their first game of the new Premier League season this afternoon when they take on West Ham United, with Mourinho equipped with three new signings to boost his chances of a title challenge.
Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic
United have added defender Victor Lindelof, defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic and striker Romelu Lukaku, but that’s only 75% of what Mourinho wanted to do in the transfer market this summer, as he also wanted a new left-sided midfielder.
The top target for United throughout the summer has been Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, and The Mirror now claim that United have re-opened talks to try and sign the winger having previously believed that the deal was dead.
It’s believed that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is back in touch with Perisic’s agent Fali Ramadani over a possible deal, with a growing sense that United are close to meeting Inter Milan’s £48million asking price.
Perisic, 28, previously turned out for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg before joining Inter in 2015, and he starred in Italy last season with 11 goals and eight assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

The Croatian international, who impressed for his country at Euro 2016, offers the potent attacking play and defensive work rate that Mourinho is looking for, meaning he could be the ideal left winger in this United side.
Whether spending so much money on a player approaching 29 is a smart decision remains to be seen, but Perisic would finally cap off Mourinho’s summer transfer plans, giving him the four players he wanted.
