According to The Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are prepared to wait until next summer to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic.

The Sun recently claimed that Everton have decided not to pursue their interest of Tierney due to Celtic’s demand of £25 million as transfer fee.

United are reported by The Manchester Evening News to have a long-standing interest in the Scotland international left-back and are prepared to wait until next summer.

Staying at Celtic

Tierney is one of the best left-backs in Europe, and there is no surprise that Premier League duo Everton and Manchester United are reportedly interested in the Celtic star.

However, it would be better for the 21-year-old if he stays at Celtic Park for one more season at least.

The youngster has progressed well over the past three seasons, and another year at Celtic working with former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be massive helpful and will make him more prepared for a move to the Premier League, especially for Jose Mourinho’s United.

Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has suggested that Tierney will be in a difficult position if he decides to leave for Everton this summer.

Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “Like McGinn, he still has a bit to go but there’s absolutely no doubt he’ll get there. If anything, I’d suggest he’d be better holding off for something higher up the food chain than Everton.

“They’re a decent club but they won’t be playing in the Champions League any time soon. Tierney will, whether it’s with Celtic or someone else.

“The lad is going places but he has talked himself in to the corner a tad with his comments about being a Celt for life. The fans won’t take too kindly if he was then to jump ship but they need to get real.”

Kieran Tierney of Celtic is seen during the Scottish Premier League between Celtic and Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on May 9, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.
