Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing the Real Madrid ace.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United have entered the race to sign Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovacic, making Tottenham’s pursuit of the Croatian that little bit harder.
According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sees Kovacic as the ideal summer signing, as he looks to bolster his midfield options at the club.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Jose Mourinho has thrown a spanner into the works, however, and is keen on bringing the Madrid ace to Old Trafford this summer.
Better suited to United or Spurs?

The 24-year-old is a deep-lying midfielder by trade, and could be exactly what Tottenham need, especially with the future of Mousa Dembele growing increasingly more uncertain by the day.
He is a wonderful passer of the football and is comfortable in possession – two traits that seemingly make him the ideal addition for Spurs this summer.
United, meanwhile, are in just as much need of a player of Kovacic’s ilk, what with Michael Carrick’s retirement.

The Croatia international would bring a certain level of quality to the Red Devils’ midfield, and he could be the ideal foil for Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera next term.
Spanish media outlet El Fichajes.net claim that Madrid could be willing to sell Kovacic for just £25.4 million, and that would represent fantastic value for whichever club manages to snare him.
