Manchester United are reportedly joining Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure this summer.
Doucoure, 25, joined Watford from French side Rennes in 2016 before heading out on loan to Granada, but he has really made a name for himself this season.
With seven goals from midfield this term, Doucoure has been a sensation for Watford, and his all-action displays in midfield are attracting major interest.

Now, it’s claimed that Manchester United are joining the race for the French midfielder, and will battle Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.
Battle becoming more and more difficult for Spurs
With Tottenham searching for a similar player to Mousa Dembele, Doucoure emerged as a top target for manager Mauricio Pochettino last month, as reported by the Daily Mail.

However, Doucoure was later quoted by The Mirror as saying that he preferred a move to Arsenal due to the presence of Arsene Wenger, denting Tottenham’s hopes.
Wenger’s unclear future at Arsenal means that Tottenham do have a chance, but Manchester United now joining the race is another potential stumbling block for Spurs.
Doucoure would be ideal as competition for Dembele, but mounting interest from the Premier League’s biggest clubs will surely mean that Watford ramp up their asking price ahead of the summer transfer window.
