Louis van Gaal’s side are reportedly looking to target the Frenchman as David de Gea’s replacement.
Manchester United are in regular contact with Tottenham star Hugo Lloris according to L’Equipe.
United look destined to lose David de Gea at some point during this summer transfer window with Real Madrid keen on securing the Spaniard, although a deal is far from being concluded.
Should they sell De Gea, it appears that Spurs captain Lloris will be their first choice as his replacement according to L’Equipe, with the Frenchman arguably one of the top three ‘keepers in the Premier League alongside the Spain stopper.
Tottenham unlikely to want to sell
Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be loath to lose their star man and it would likely to take a big offer to tempt them into selling.
The path may also be blocked by their lack of desire to strengthen a team they would consider their rivals for a highly coveted place in the top four next season, while the clubs don’t exactly have a good relationship following the sales of both Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov.
Lloris then, may have to force the move himself. If United were to make an offer, he’d surely be tempted by the Champions League football on offer at Old Trafford.
Although a move remains just a possibility at present, the rumours of regular contact will certainly unsettle Spurs fans.
