Manchester United are reportedly plotting a January move for John McGinn.

According to ESPN, Manchester United are ready to explore the possibility of a January move for Aston Villa star John McGinn.
McGinn, 24, joined Villa from Hibernian for £2.75million in 2018 (Times), and whilst some had concerns about his ability to step up, he enjoyed a great first season at the club with nine goals and 12 assists.
The Scot helped fire Villa to promotion, and has started this season in superb form too, notching three goals and an assist in an impressive start to life in the Premier League.
Over the summer, The Sun claimed that Manchester United wanted McGinn, but Villa were demanding around £50million, and no move materialised in the end.
Now, it’s reported that United will explore the possibility of a January move for McGinn, but may be resigned to waiting until the summer, as is the case with many of their England-based targets, like Callum Wilson, James Maddison and Declan Rice.

McGinn is not just a relentless, hard-working midfielder, as he also has the ability to get forward and score goals from midfield, and that combination could make him a favourite at Old Trafford.
Still, if Villa were demanding £50million even before he played in the Premier League, that price tag is surely going up – and could price the Red Devils out of a move in 2020, with Villa no doubt wanting to make sure he doesn’t leave mid-season.
