Manchester United reportedly backed away from a deal for Everton new boy Yerry Mina.

According to The Times, Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Everton new boys Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from Barcelona for a host of reasons.
United opened their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 home win over Leicester City, as goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw handed Jose Mourinho all three points.
The win came 24 hours after a dismal end to the transfer window for United, in which they were unable to get the new centre back Mourinho had been chasing for much of the summer.
A host of names were linked with a move to Old Trafford, and Yerry Mina was one of them – but reports are now explaining why he didn’t become a Red Devil this summer.
The Times report that United backed away from the Colombian for a host of reasons, including because Barcelona demanded a buy-back clause in the defender’s move.
Additionally, it’s stated that United weren’t keen to take midfielder Andre Gomes as part of the deal, and also weren’t impressed with the conduct of Mina’s agent throughout proceedings.

That allowed Everton to swoop in, as they landed both Mina and Gomes on deadline day, though it could have all been so different had United ruined their plans by taking both Barca outcasts.
Mina, 23, is now an Everton player but Barcelona do have a £53.6million buy-back clause in the deal, and it remains to be seen whether the Catalan giants end up seeing enough of the 6ft 5in mountain to bring him back to the Camp Nou.
