Italian outlet FC Inter 1908 report that Inter Milan are hoping to announce the renewal of Marcelo Brozovic’s contract in the ‘next few days’. However, both Tottenham and Manchester United are monitoring developments.
Brozovic, 29, is out of contract in the summer and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. But he has a contract offer until the summer of 2026 worth a whopping £97,000 a week, from Inter.
Barcelona have also been in contact and despite their financial woes, are said to be willing to pay a huge £130,000 a week. The report also states that Tottenham and Manchester United are closely watching proceedings.
However, Inter are confident. They hope to tie up a deal for the 70-time Croatia international in the ‘next few days’. But while there is no signature from Brozovic, Tottenham and Manchester United are monitoring a deal.
Which club needs Brozovic more – Tottenham or Manchester United?
Spurs pulled off a deal that many are looking at as particularly underrated, in the form of Uruguay international Rodrigo Bentancur. A brilliant player with huge experience at 24, they landed him for a bargain £17million.
They also have a rejuvenated Harry Winks, an academy graduate in Oliver Skipp and a warrior in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Manchester United, meanwhile, really need a midfielder and Brozovic would be ideal.
Nemanja Matic and Fred have often been criticised for their lack of quality in midfield. Scott McTominay is showing top form, while Paul Pogba is expected to go. United need him so much more than Tottenham.
