Manchester United and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in signing the Real Madrid ace.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca, Liverpool and Manchester United are set for a summer battle for Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovacic’s signature.
The 24-year-old has played a peripheral role for the La Liga giants, since moving to the Santiago Bernabeu from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, making just 37 league starts.
That is not to say that he doesn’t still have a lot to offer at the very highest level, however, but more so that the competition for places in midfield at Madrid is arguably the toughest in world football.
Spanish publication Marca claim that Liverpool and Manchester United are both desperate to land the 46-capped Croatia international, and will be willing to offer him a starring role in the first team.

According to a report from the Daily Star, Madrid value Kovacic at £80 million, and in today’s market, that would have to be considered as decent value for someone with the Croatian’s age and quality.
Quite where he ends up remains to be seen, but considering the fact that Liverpool have already signed two central midfielders this summer in the shape of Fabinho and Naby Keita, Manchester United might just be the better option for the 24-year-old Madrid star, if he is to nail down regular first-team action.
