According to The Sun, Manchester United are working to find Sergio Romero a new club amid links to Premier League rivals.

It’s claimed that Romero was ‘upset’ after being left out of the Europa League semi-final clash with Sevilla.

The 33-yer-old now wants to leave, and United chiefs are allegedly working to get him out of the club this summer and get him the first-team football he wants.

Most people probably saw this coming, given that United have given a new deal to Dean Henderson, meaning Romero is now third-choice goalkeeper at Old Trafford.

He is certainly better than that, and United look ready to offload the Argentinian, just over five years since signing him from AZ Alkmaar.

In July, ESPN reported that Everton and Leeds United both want to sign Romero, giving him a shot at playing time.

Everton would want him to compete with Jordan Pickford following his patchy season, whilst Leeds have youngster Illan Meslier in goal right now and may see Romero as a better short-term option.

United working to sell him is a boost for both clubs, and have surely been contacted given their interest in signing him.
