Report: Manchester United ace Young taunted Tottenham star over lack of trophies

Manchester United and Tottenham stars clashed in the first half at Old Trafford.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young took a dig at Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli’s lack of trophies, according to the Manchester Evening News.

It is claimed Young was riled by a jibe by Alli about his age, and responded by calling out the Tottenham star.

The duo had to be separated by their teammates in the first half at Old Trafford, which Manchester United went on to win 1-0.

The Manchester Evening News report: “Ashley Young told Dele Alli ‘let me know when you win the Prem’ after the Tottenham playmaker told him to ‘retire with a zimmer frame’.”

Young commented on Twitter after the game, with a sharp ‘talk is cheap’ line.

Alli has come close to winning the league with Tottenham for the last two seasons but fallen just short.

But at 21, he has his whole career ahead of him to try and win England’s top prize.

In all Young’s years at Manchester United, he has only won the league once, back in 2012/13.

At 32, his time is running out to do it again and United already trail Pep Guardiola’s dominant Manchester City side in this year’s battle.
