Manchester United have reportedly given up on targeting Tottenham Hotspur left back Danny Rose.
According to The Express, Manchester United have abandoned their pursuit of Tottenham left back Danny Rose after receiving a hands-off warning from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
The Red Devils have already snapped up Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku this summer, and their Premier League campaign got off to the best possible start with a 4-0 home win over West Ham United.

However, United boss Jose Mourinho remains keen on adding new signings, and he could target a new left back given that Daley Blind has looked unconvincing in pre-season and on the opening day of the season, whilst Mourinho still doesn’t appear convinced by Luke Shaw.
Mourinho has been strongly linked with a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose, but The Express report that the Red Devils are abandoning their pursuit of Rose as a result of being told by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that there will be no deal.
Rose, 27, has been a key part of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side over the last two years, with his pace and attacking ability serving as a vital cog in the Tottenham team, whilst he has also become England’s first-choice left back when fit, as he has been out through injury since January.
Whilst Rose was a popular player among Spurs fans, the attitude has somewhat changed over the last week, as the Doncaster-born defender told The Sun that he feels underpaid and would consider moving back up north, sparking rumours of a move to Manchester United.

However, United have allegedly received a familiar message from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, as having told Mourinho’s men to forget about a possible deal for Eric Dier earlier this summer – as reported by The Mirror in July – he is believed to have done the same over Rose’s future.
It’s noted that Chelsea could also make a move for Rose, but with just two weeks of the transfer window left to go, notoriously difficult negotiator Levy won’t be looking to let any key players leave Tottenham, especially after losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City last month.
