Newcastle United and Sheffield Wednesday are among four clubs reportedly keen on the Manchester City prospect.

Manchester City centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo is attracting interest from four clubs including Newcastle United and Sheffield Wednesday, The Times reports.

The highly-rated 19-year-old recently agreed a new deal at The Etihad Stadium, which is said to be worth £40,000 a week.

But according to The Times, City are willing to loan the player to a Premier League or top-half Championship club to build Adarabioyo’s experience.

Newcastle recently increased their tally of centre-backs to five with the capture of former City employee Florian Lejeune, and at least one of those would perhaps have to leave in order to provide Adarabioyo the game time he needs to develop.

Funnily enough, Sheffield Wednesday could assist in that regard, after Carlos Carvahal’s side were strongly linked with a move for Newcastle’s Grant Hanley [Sheffield Star].

The Owls’ Portuguese head coach told the BBC he is looking to add two new centre-backs this summer, though signing a player as unproven as Adarabioyo would be a somewhat unprecedented step for Carvalhal.

Wednesday’s former academy manager Dean Ramsdale recently left Hillsborough to join City, and could potentially influence the Premier League side’s decision.

Fulham and Preston North End are also credited with interest in Adarabioyo, who has played for England at Under-19 level.
