The Manchester City goalkeeper could become Burnley’s first summer signing.
Manchester City’s Joe Hart is on his way to Burnley for a medical, according to the Sun.
The newspaper reports that Hart is set to sign for the Clarets in a £4 million permanent deal, which could be announced as early as Friday evening.
It comes barely 24 hours after Burnley emerged as heavy favourites to sign the 31-year-old with bookmaker, Sky Bet.
Burnley are without their two first-choice goalkeepers, Nick Pope and Tom Heaton, to injury, and were forced to turn to Andreas Lindegaard for Thursday’s Europa League qualifying win against Aberdeen.
And it remains to be seen what impact Hart’s arrival would have on the trio’s long-term futures.
Hart, who won two league titles as Manchester City number 1, was cast to one side upon the arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager at the Etihad Stadium.
The former England international was subsequently loaned to Torino and West Ham United, where he experienced mixed success.
