Manchester City reportedly believe they won’t be able to sign Tottenham trio Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Dele Alli this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City will abandon their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur trio Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Dele Alli, over fears they will cost too much money.
City haven’t quite lived up to expectations under Pep Guardiola this season, as rather than challenging for the Premier League title, it looks like they will have to make do with third or fourth place in the table.
Guardiola’s side are definitely still a work in progress, and the squad must get younger this summer, with both full back positions needing some attention this summer.
Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy are all over 30 years of age, and Kolarov is the only one of the quartet under contract after the end of this season, meaning a right back and left back will be needed.
However, the Daily Mail report that City will abandon their pursuit of Tottenham right back Kyle Walker and left back Danny Rose – as well as Spurs playmaker Dele Alli – as they fear the trio will be too expensive.
Guardiola has allegedly been looking to bring more English players to the Etihad Stadium, and Walker, Rose and Alli were at the top of his wish list – but director of football Txiki Begiristain is believed to be calling off the pursuit as they’ll cost too much.

Right back Walker and left back Rose, both 26, have been vital for Mauricio Pochettino’s style of football with their pace, stamina and attacking ability, becoming England’s first choice full backs too.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old midfielder Alli has enjoyed a remarkable season in front of goal, finding the net 19 times in all competitions, whilst he’s also added five assists in the Premier League as his stock continues to raise.
Tottenham would most likely command a fee of at least £150million for the trio, and with chairman Daniel Levy reluctant to sell three players tied to long-term contracts, City’s chances of landing the trio are very low – and they now appear to be looking elsewhere, despite Guardiola’s desire to bring the England trio to Manchester this summer.
