Manchester City are negotiating with a reported Tottenham Hotspur target it seems.

According to Turkish Football, Manchester City have submitted a bid for Basaksehir ace Cengiz Under.

In May, Tottenham Hotspur were reported by Ajannspor to have made an offer for the 19-year-old prodigy, who helped Basaksehir finish second in Turkey’s top flight last term.

It was later reported by The Sun that the Turkish outfit had accepted Spurs’ £8 million bid for Under, who netted seven league goals in 31 outings last season.

That being said, Turkish Football have now claimed that Manchester City have stolen a march on the Lilywhites by engaging in negotiations with the talent, after lodging a bid.

The report goes on to state that although no agreement has been reached, there will be a breakthrough in negotiations.

If true then it would make it ever so hard for Tottenham to sign him now, if they are still interested of course.

The Citizens have the capabilities to blow a lot of teams – including Spurs – out of the water when it comes to the personal terms and it might well be too late for the Lilywhites.

Then again, although City can offer him more money, Mauricio Pochettino can offer him the chance to develop at one of the most promising young teams in the world.

The Argentine has proven himself quite adept when it comes to developing young talent and Under need only look at the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier to know that Pochettino knows what he is doing.
