The 26-year-old forward who played 39 games for Manchester City has reportedly triggered a complex transfer agreement.

Stevan Jovetic appears to have made his loan move to Inter Milan from Manchester City a permanent one, as was always the intended plan.

The talented forward joined the Italian giants initially on an 18-month loan deal for €2.5 million, however, a clause was inserted making a permanent deal very likely.

The clause stated that should Inter Milan be outside the relegation zone in December 2016 OR Jovetic make a competitive appearance for Inter in 2016/17, the deal would become permanent.

In exchange for signing Jovetic on a permanent deal, Inter Milan also have to hand over €14.5 million (£12.25m) to Manchester City, according to football-italia.net.

The €14.5 million fee to be paid by Inter is in addition to the €2.5 million they previously paid Pep Guardiola’s team to take the player on-loan.

Despite showing flashes of brilliance, Jovetic has been inconsistent at Inter just as he was in the Premier League.

A skilful player but one who has had injury problems and needs to be in the right setup in order to flourish, Jovetic hasn’t scored more than 6 league goals in a season since 2012/13 at Fiorentina.

Having said that, the Montenegrin was arguably Inter’s outstanding player during their pre-season, and there is undoubtedly a gifted player within him.

Joevtic scored 11 goals in 39 games for Manchester City, winning the double in 2014, but he never nailed down a spot in the first team.
