Manchester City are reportedly ready to let Joe Hart sign for West Ham on loan – if they cannot sell him.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester City will allow goalkeeper Joe Hart to join West Ham United on loan this summer if they cannot find a buyer for him.

Hart, 30, joined City from hometown club Shrewsbury Town back in 2006, and has racked up almost 350 appearances for the club during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite being a fan favourite – and winning two Premier League titles – Hart was frozen out by Pep Guardiola last summer, and was farmed out on loan to Italian side Torino in a surprise move.

Hart played 36 Serie A games for Torino and managed to keep his spot in the England squad, though his poor performance against Scotland on Saturday has again brought him in for stern criticism.

As he returns to Manchester City, Hart is unlikely to win over Guardiola, and Sky Sports report that City will sanction a loan move to West Ham United if they can’t find a buyer for him this summer.

The Hammers allegedly cannot afford both a transfer fee and Hart’s wages, so would only be able to take him on loan – and City are willing to agree such a deal if they cannot sell the goalkeeper.

Slaven Bilic started and ended the season with Adrian between the sticks, but gave a lengthy run to Darren Randolph in the middle of the campaign, with the Croatian seemingly unconvinced by his two shot-stoppers.

Hart would arrive as West Ham’s new first-choice goalkeeper, but whether the goalkeeper himself would be willing to go out on another loan deal remains to be seen.
