Manchester City have reportedly offered Sergio Aguero a chance to return to the club as a global ambassador following his retirement from football.

According to Argentine publication Ole, the Premier League giants are preparing a ‘special offer’ to bring Aguero back to the club on a non-laying basis. The 33-year-old announced his retirement from football this week after suffering cardiac problems with new club FC Barcelona.

As per the report, though, City’s offer to become an ambassador isn’t the only role Aguero has received. The former striker has also been approached by TV companies in both Argentina and Spain to become an on-screen analyst for top-flight matches.

Aguero’s early retirement from football has been one of the most surprising and emotional stories in football this year.

The striker helped City to the Premier League title as well as the UEFA Champions League final before moving to Barcelona as a free agent.

Despite signing for a club in a league where the striker could have thrived, a sudden health problem has seen Aguero retire at just 33-years-old. However, it appears that the former attacker is not short on post-football options.

Ambassador role is perfect for Aguero after retirement

An ambassador role with City could be ideal for Aguero as he enters a new phase of his football career.

And given his status with the club and all he has done for the Manchester giants, the Argentine is more than perfect to become a representative of the Premier League side.
