Manchester City are now expected to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, the Independent report.
City have had a policy in place which means that they don’t spend over £60 million on any player.
However, the Independent claim that they are now expected to break that stance, with Villa’s Grealish and a striker expected to be signed for over that amount.
The news of City’s interest in Grealish is hardly a shock, as Pep Guardiola has already spoken effusively about the Villa playmaker this season.
However, this update outlines their interest in the strongest terms yet.
Grealish’s departure from Villa would obviously be a major concern for Dean Smith’s side.
If he was to join City alongside Harry Kane, who Pep Guardiola’s men are also said to be interested in, then the Premier League champions could be simply unstoppable next year.

City would possess a ridiculous amount of creative options if Grealish was at the club, with Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden already in place at the Etihad Stadium.
And if the transfer does go ahead, as similar expected, it would surely put fear into the rest of the chasing pack, as shutting City out would become even more difficult.
