Manchester City could send Eliaquim Mangala on loan to Newcastle United.

According to The Mirror, Newcastle United and Manchester City are in talks over a deal to send Eliaquim Mangala to St. James’ Park on loan.
The Magpies have been left frustrated in their attempts to bring in new signings so far this month, with manager Rafael Benitez only able to bring in Chelsea youngster Kenedy on loan so far.
With around 48 hours of the transfer window to go, Newcastle need to bring in more additions to boost their squad, given that they lie just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Now, The Mirror report that Newcastle are now in talks over a deal to sign Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala on loan before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
It’s claimed that, with City poised to snap up Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao, Mangala has been pushed further down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order, and is set to move on for the rest of the season.
The report states that Newcastle would be expected to pay the majority of Mangala’s £80,000-a-week wages, and talks are ongoing with City over a deal to sign the Frenchman until the end of the season.

Mangala, 26, was seen as a major signing for City back in 2014 when they prised him away from Porto, but he has struggled to make any sort of impact, and has often struggled at the Etihad Stadium.
Mangala spent last season on loan at Valencia and has played 15 times this season, but now looks close to joining Newcastle, where he can compete with Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles, Florian Lejeune and Chancel Mbemba.
