Fabian Delph is close to securing a move to Stoke City.

Fabian Delph is about to ending his nightmare spell at Manchester City, as the midfielder edges closer to teaming up with Mark Hughes at Stoke City.

According to reports from The Daily Star, the 27-year-old is on the verge of joining Stoke City in a deal thought to be around £10 million.

Delph joined City in 2015 from Aston Villa with a reputation of being a highly talented midfielder, but he failed to make a strong impression at the Etihad Stadium.

A series of injuries coupled with loss of form meant that he failed to make his mark with the Citizens.

He made only 24 Premier Leagues appearances for City.

Delph is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans and the midfielder has not travelled with the City squad to America for their pres-season tour.

The report claims that there has been an interest from West Bromwich Albion for the former Leeds United player, but Stoke looks set to beat the Premier League rivals to his signature.

Delph is looking to revive his career under Hughes, and in order to do so, he needs to keep himself free from injuries. Overall, he would be a good signing for Stoke City.
