According to The Athletic, Manchester City have held an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min – but have yet to make a move.
It’s claimed that City have been casting admiring glances towards Son, as they consider their options to strengthen their attack.
However, Pep Guardiola’s men haven’t made a firm move for the South Korean star, and Tottenham are now fighting to keep hold of him.
Daniel Levy has ‘zero intention’ of selling Son, and is now pushing to give him a new contract to stay at Tottenham well into his 30’s.
The 28-year-old has been simply sensational this season, smashing nine goals and two assists in his first nine Premier League games of the campaign.
He scored against City last weekend, showing great speed and movement to beat Guardiola’s back line to open the scoring in a 2-0 Spurs win.

If Son signs a new long-term deal, it seems unlikely he will be moving on any time soon, and City already have the likes of Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres down the left flank.
Levy no doubt understands that Son is an outstanding player as well as a great marketing tool, so doesn’t want to see him leave – especially for a Premier League rival.
Don’t expect Son to leave any time soon, but City’s interest at least shows how highly he is rated rather than merely being second-fiddle to Harry Kane.
