It was a mixed season for Manchester City last time around.

Yes, they coasted to a third Premier League title in four years under the maestro Pep Guardiola, but their campaign still ended on a bum note.

Manchester City missed the chance to win a first-ever Champions League final after losing to Chelsea in an all-English final.

The Spanish coach will be determined to go one better next season and if rumours are believed, they could have another weapon in their arsenal.

The Sun have reported that Guardiola is ‘desperate’ to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish and that the player’s agents have secured a greenlight to try and engineer a switch to Eastlands, for what would be a record-breaking £100 million move.

Is Grealish joining Man City?

Well it wouldn’t sit well with Aston Villa fans but, let’s be honest, a £100 million bid will do it.

He is Villa born and bred, a lifelong fan of his boyhood club, but even Grealish himself might find it difficult to turn down, too.

Manchester City are the best team in the Premier League by a distance and, at 25, it’s the ideal time for Grealish to join Guardiola’s project.

Whether he’s good enough to help City get over the line in terms of winning the Champions League remains to be seen.

But the addition of a £100 million player wouldn’t do their chances much harm.
