Manchester City chose not to sign a left back this summer, but now fancy landing AC Milan ace Theo Hernandez in that role.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that City would like to sign Hernandez in 2022 – whether that’s January or the summer.
Paris Saint-Germain are also keen, but much will now depend on the performances of Nuno Mendes.
PSG signed the Portuguese defender on deadline day, with the left back – often linked with Manchester City – now off in France.
If Mendes impresses on loan, PSG will make the move permanent, and that could leave City as favourites to land Hernandez.
Oleksandr Zinchenko hasn’t been in favour so far this term, Joao Cancelo isn’t a natural left footer and Benjamin Mendy isn’t exactly available right now.
Hernandez, 23, has proven himself to be an outstanding attacking threat at Milan, bagging 15 goals and 14 assists in 83 games for the Italian side.

The French international contributes massively going forward, possessing outstanding pace and well as being physical at around 6ft tall.
Hernandez seems pretty ideal for City, and has been branded a ‘monster’ by former Milan left back Serginho.
It won’t be cheap to prise Hernandez away from the San Siro, but he does make sense as a prime City target in the coming transfer windows.
