According to reports from Belgium media outlet, HLN, Jason Denayer has agreed personal terms to join Ligue 1 side Lyon this summer.
The 21-year-old joined Manchester City’s youth academy in 2013, but is yet to make a senior appearance for the side. He has spent loan spells at Celtic, Galatasaray, and Sunderland, and has made eight appearances for the Belgium national team.
Last season he joined Sunderland on loan where he endured a disappointing season.
Lyon have a long standing interest in the player having tried to sign him before. The French club had spoken to Denayer’s clubmate Eliaquim Mangala earlier this week but his high price tag wasn’t considered a great value by Lyon.
In fact, L’Equipe reported that Lyon asked City if they can take Denayer on loan, as they favoured a move for the Belgian international over Mangala.

HLN has a follow-up story where they revealed that Denayer has agreed to join Lyon on loan. However, the deal is far from being done, as City are yet to sanction a move.
Denayer is one of several City players being lined up for a move to the newly promoted La Liga side Girona, as a part of the collaboration between the two clubs.
It is almost certain that the player will leave City in the next few days. He is keen on the chance to play for Lyon, but City have other plans.
