Ronald Koeman’s side are not keen to see him leave on the cheap though and have slapped a £50 million asking price on his head.
Recent reports have suggested that Manchester City were unwilling to meet that fee and were instead attempting to negotiate a player plus cash deal.

However, the Mirror now reports that they have changed their stance and could even look to go beyond the £50 million asking price to secure his signature.
According to the newspaper, they had wanted him on their pre-season tour of China, and that is still a possibility if they can thrash out a deal in the coming days.
Everton are happy to sell him should their asking price be met with Ronald Koeman simply set to look for a replacement.
