Ryan Sessegnon impressed on his Fulham debut this week and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly held talks.
Manchester City are considering a move for 16-year-old Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Daily Mail.
The former England Under-16 captain earned rave reviews following his first team debut at Leeds United on Tuesday and has already attracted interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Liverpool.
However, Sessegnon would be ideal for City, whose current left-back options Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy are both the wrong side of 30.
The Londoner would also eventually count towards the Citizens’ homegrown quota, which is set to be reduced by Joe Hart’s seemingly imminent departure from the Etihad Stadium.
According to a report in the London Evening Standard this week, which claimed Spurs have already opened talks over a deal for Sessegnon, City have to pay ‘far more’ than the £3 million transfer fee mooted in some places.
Sessegnon is the latest product of an impressive Fulham academy system, which has spawned the likes of Moussa Dembele and Patrick Roberts – signed by City for £11 million a year ago – in recent seasons.
Roberts will spend the rest of the campaign on loan to Celtic, where he was reunited with Dembele earlier this summer.
