Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are confident of beating Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea to the signature of Marc Cucurella, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Manchester City are keen on signing Brighton and Hove Albion left-back Cucurella in the summer transfer window.

The Premier League champions are reportedly confident that ‘the 23-year-old will be attainable’ despite interest from Chelsea among other clubs, according to the report.

The Sun reported last month that Tottenham, Chelsea and City all want to sign the 23-year-old, who can also play as a left winger.

The report claimed that the Seagulls are looking for £45 million to sell the Spain international this summer.

Manchester City’s Marc Cucurella confidence blow for Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, Manchester City’s confidence regarding signing Marc Cucurella is a blow for Tottenham Hotspur.

City won the Premier League title this past season and also went as far as the semi-finals of the Champions League as well.

Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world, and working with him and potentially winning the Premier League and the Champions League would be hugely appealing to Cucurella.

Yes, Tottenham are a massive club who will also play in the Champions League next season, but Antonio Conte’s side are nowhere close to City at the moment.
