According to The Telegraph, Manchester City are increasingly confident of snapping up Tottenham Hotspur full back Kyle Walker this summer.
City drew 0-0 with rivals Manchester United this evening, with the first half performance showing up one of the major deficiencies in Pep Guardiola’s side.
Pablo Zabaleta had a tough time with the pace of Anthony Martial, and it’s key that City add pace at full back when Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna leave the club upon the expiration of their contract this summer.
Now, The Telegraph believe that City are zeroing in on Tottenham right back Kyle Walker, and are increasingly confident of landing him after he held talks with manager Mauricio Pochettino about his future.

Walker, 26, has emerged into one of the country’s top full backs during his time under Pochettino, adding greater defensive play to the pace and attacking play that saw Spurs sign him from Sheffield United in 2009.
Now England’s first-choice right back, Walker has starred for Tottenham, but he was left on the bench for last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea – prompting talks with manager Pochettino about both his role and the club’s plans going forward.

It’s now stated that Tottenham will listen to offers for Walker, and City are hoping to strike a deal by offering a huge transfer fee, and a considerable increase to Walker’s current wages of £70,000-a-week.
However, the report does add that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would rather sell to a foreign club than to a direct rival, meaning City could face a challenge convincing the Spurs chief to strike a deal.
