The Manchester City defender is reportedly nearing the Etihad exit door.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca, Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala is closing in on a move to Valencia.
The 28-year-old joined City from Porto in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be worth £32 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has struggled to establish himself at the Etihad, making just 79 appearances for the club.
The Frenchman arrived in the north west of England with a great reputation, but he never managed to acclimatise to the pace and intensity of the Premier League.
Mangala has spent two separate loan spells away from Manchester City with Valencia and Everton, but in truth, he hardly impressed with those clubs either.
Spanish publication Marca claims that he is on the verge of returning to Spain, however.

Whilst the cost of the deal is not mentioned, Marca do claim that City will take a significant hit on the fee that they paid Porto for his services five years ago.
And there surely won’t be too many Manchester City fans who will be sad to see the back of Mangala.
