According to the Daily Mail, At-Ittihad boss Nuno Espirito Santo is now interested in returning to Wolves as Fosun continue their search for Bruno Lage’s replacement.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants Wolves return
Well, this would be a huge shock – to say the least.
Wolves actually sacked Nuno just 12 months into a three-year contract following a disappointing 2020/21 campaign, which saw the Old Gold finish 13th in the Premier League.
Surprisingly, Tottenham decided to hire the 48-year-old despite Wolves handing him his P45, although he lasted just four months in north London before Antonio Conte replaced him.
The Daily Mail believe the Portuguese coach left Molineux after his relationship with those on the board became strained, and it is unclear whether they match his enthusiasm for a reunion in the Midlands.

Nuno is just three months into his role at At-Ittihad, so he would have to break his agreement with the Saudi Arabian side to complete a return to Wolves.
During his time at Wolves and Tottenham, Nuno achieved 48 wins from 124 Premier League games.
Wolves should ignore Nuno Espirito Santo
In our view, it would be madness for Wolves to rehire Nuno.
Fosun parted ways with the São Tomé-born tactician in the hope of taking a step forward, moving away from what could be described as a pragmatic, defensive style.
They failed to achieve that under Lage, but that doesn’t mean Fosun should now take a step backwards after falling at the first hurdle.
It would also be quite an awkward arrangement, and we aren’t sure what measures could be taken to mend Nuno’s fractured relationship with the board.
In the likes of Matheus Nunes, Pedro Neto and Goncalo Guedes, Wolves have the technical players needed to play an attractive, possession based style.
Now, it’s time for Fosun to find the right man to utilise their talents – Nuno has already shown he isn’t the right fit.
