According to Tutto Mercato Web, Maurizio Sarri is now most likely to be hired by Tottenham after Roma appointed José Mourinho.
The Italian news outlet states that Sarri moving to Roma was the only viable option for the 62-year-old.
Now that road has been closed, a move to north London to join Tottenham is the most likely option for Sarri.
Tutto Mercato Web describe it as the ‘hottest possibility’ for the ex-Chelsea boss.
If you’re a Tottenham fan who’s unhappy with this news, there are plenty of positives.
For one, Sarri has Premier League experience, winning 21 of his 38 games in charge of Chelsea back in the 2018/19 campaign.
The Italian has also won two trophies throughout his managerial career.
He helped Chelsea lift the Europa League, and also guided Juventus to the Serie A title in 2019/20.

Furthermore, Sarri has impressively overseen 287 wins as a manager.
His sides over the years have scored 938 goals, while conceding 608, picking up 1,014 points along the way.
Sarri has also averaged 1.74 points per game as a manager, which is a pretty decent record.
His style is also an attack-minded one.

If he does end up in north London, fans should expect to see a vastly different type of football to what Mourinho served up during his time at Spurs.
It’s funny how things work out. If Mourinho hadn’t gone to Roma, then Sarri most likely would’ve ended up replacing Paulo Fonseca in Rome.
However, the man sacked by Daniel Levy is still influencing things over in north London, judging by Tutto Mercato Web‘s revelation.
