Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Eden Hazard from Real Madrid.

Liverpool interest

On Thursday, El Nacional reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Hazard from Spanish and European giants Madrid.

Liverpool manager Klopp is fan of the attacking midfielder and wants to sign him for the Reds.

The report in the Spanish publication added that Klopp wants Hazard, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota in a ‘dream’ attacking lineup.

Fresh update

There has been a fresh update regarding the story, which we think Liverpool fans will love.

El Nacional are now reporting that Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has told president Fiorentina Perez to sell Hazard in the January transfer window.

Ancelotti does not have the 30-year-old, who can also play as a winger, in his plans, according to the report.

Boost for Liverpool

In our view, if this report is true, then it is a massive boost to Liverpool’s chances of signing Hazard.

Ancelotti was re-appointed the Madrid boss only in the summer of 2021.

This suggests that Madrid are likely to accede to the Italian’s wishes.

For now anyway.

Now, of course, Hazard has had terrible injury problems at Madrid, but from his time at Chelsea, we know what he is capable of.

Just ask Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool right-back has publicly said that Hazard was the toughest player he has ever faced in the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold said on Amazon Prime Video Sport in September 2021 when asked to name his toughest opponent in the Premier League: “Hazard, maybe De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent would have to be Hazard. Speed, agility, mentality, intelligence on and off the ball.”

Alexander-Arnold is one of the best right-backs in the world.

If the England international found it tough against Hazard, then imagine how the rest of the defenders in the Premier League will feel if the Belgian joins Liverpool.
