Arsenal and Newcastle United have been linked with Ferland Mendy, but Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly does not want to sell the defender to either the Gunners or the Magpies.

Carlo Ancelotti stance on Arsenal and Newcastle target Ferland Mendy

Defensa Central have reported that Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti does not want to sell Ferland Mendy, who is on the radar of Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Ancelotti reportedly considers the left-back a key player in his defence.

However, former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners Madrid are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Mendy.

Marca have claimed that there is interest in the £154,000-a-week (SalarySport) left-back from Saudi Arabia.

Sport reported in May that Arsenal are willing to pay €20 million (£17.19 million) to sign Mendy from Real in the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk reported in June that Newcastle are showing interest in the defender and are taking a close look into the possibility of securing the 28-year-old services in the summer of 2023.

Could a summer transfer happen?

In our opinion, if Arsenal or Newcastle United made a good offer for Ferland Mendy, then they would be able to sign the Real Madrid left-back in the summer transfer window.

Yes, Ancelotti may want to keep the left-back, but ultimately it is the Madrid hierarchy who makes the final decision.

If Los Blancos want Mendy gone, then that could prove to be the case in the end.
