Report: Manager desperate to keep his player, after reports Leeds want to sign him

Daniel Farke does not want to lose Todd Cantwell, amid suggestions that Leeds United are keen to sign him, the Daily Mail say.

Leeds have been strong admirers of Cantwell this summer, and the Daily Star went as far as to say that they expect to land the playmaker before the domestic transfer deadline passes.

Cantwell has not featured for Norwich recently, and Farke even criticised his performances in training.

But it seems that the Canaries boss was only using his words as a motivational technique, rather than an indication that he would like to sell the playmaker.

Farke is said to be hoping to see the 22-year-old around at Carrow Road, which makes Leeds’ task of securing a deal much more difficult.

Leeds have already run into obstacles as they have searched for a central midfielder, with deals for Rodrigo De Paul and Michael Cuisance proving impossible to complete.

And it seems that the Whites could find Cantwell equally tough to sign.

If Leeds do manage to get hold of the playmaker then he could be an extremely exciting addition to their squad, though.

Cantwell looked at home in the Premier League last term, despite Norwich’s relegation, and he would add to the poise and creativity available to Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
