According to ESPN, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to let Jesse Lingard leave, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United among the clubs interested in him.
Newcastle United, Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion are also reported to be keen on the 28-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
United manager Solskjaer has held talks with the England international and has decided to let him go so that he can play regular first-team football, according to the report, which has added that the final decision now rests on the club’s board.
Joining Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United
Lingard has not played much football this season, and the English attacking player must be eager to get playing time on a regular basis.
Tottenham do have enough good attack-minded players, but head coach Jose Mourinho worked with the 28-year-old when he was at Manchester United and could get him back to his best.
West Ham boss David Moyes worked with Lingard as well – at United – and in a season where the Hammers could end up in the European places, Lingard could add depth to the squad and would be a valuable option to have.
According to WhoScored, the attacker has not played a single minute in the Premier League this season, and made only nine starts in the league in 2019-20.
