Gareth Southgate is ready to risk angering Jose Mourinho by starting Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane on Wednesday, the Daily Mail suggest.

Kane has been suffering with what has been described as ‘muscular fatigue’ over the international break, with the Tottenham striker only fit enough to play for 30 minutes last night.

But Southgate is eager to use his captain in midweek, despite Tottenham wanting him to be released from international duty altogether.

Spurs’s medics are ready to talk to England in the week, with Jose Mourinho wanting the striker to return to North London.

That seems unlikely though, as the Three Lions are planning on starting him for their next game.

If Kane is to pick up an injury that is sure to cause a great deal of frustration from Tottenham fans and Mourinho.

The Spurs boss has already warned Southgate about over-using Kane, and his latest plan has apparently not gone down well with Tottenham.

Kane has started the campaign in brilliant form for Mourinho’s side, and if they were to lose him to injury, it would be a huge blow.
