Besiktas boss Sergen Yalcin has given Josef de Souza permission to try and convince Allan to accept a transfer from Everton to the Istanbul outfit next year, according to Yeni Asir.

Josef is eager to reunite with Allan in Turkey after tempting Alex Teixeira to make the move this summer. The trio played together at Vasco da Gama in 2009 after graduating from the Brazilian side’s academy.

Besiktas sanctioned Teixeira’s arrival as Yalcin sought to strengthen his midfield in the last summer transfer market. They also loaned Miralem Pjanic from Barcelona, but the Bosnian will return to Spain at the end of the season.

Besiktas captain Atiba Hutchinson will also leave Vodafone Park at the end of the campaign after nine-years in Istanbul. Leaving Yalcin to again require new faces in his engine room, as the Black Eagles look to compete for the Super Lig title and in the Champions League.

Allan’s name is rising on Besiktas’ shortlist, as Josef targets the Everton ace and another transfer for a former teammate. But a move for the 30-year-old would be difficult due to his key role under Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park.

The Blues’ £21m signing from Napoli last year has started all Premier League games under the Spaniard so far. He also featured in 24 under Carlo Ancelotti following his arrival on Merseyside, while having two-years remaining on his contract.

Josef will continue to try and convince Allan to walk away from his £70k-a-week deal to unite in Turkey. The Istanbul outfit currently sit third in the Super Lig standings, two-points behind leaders Fenerbahce after the opening eight fixtures.

Would Allan leave Everton for Besiktas, amid Josef’s transfer desires?

Allan answering Josef’s transfer desires and leaving Everton for Besiktas would seem questionable, even with their prior connections in Brazil. The 10-cap international is a pivotal part of Benitez’s plans at Goodison, and has again performed at a high standard.

He offers the Toffees’ boss an aggressive ball winner in the centre, plus a hard-runner who imposes himself on opponents. Everton would be significantly weaker in winning back the ball without Allan, who earned Jose Mourinho’s praise last season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss described Allan as a ‘great’ player, via football.london, in February. Ancelotti was also full of praise for Allan from his first day at Goodison. “Allan is a fantastic player, he has fantastic energy and quality in midfield,” he told EvertonTV.
