Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle West Ham United for Mario Mandzukic.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are planning a new move for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic after missing out over the summer.
Mandzukic, 33, is out of favour at Juventus under Maurizio Sarri, and his time with the Turin giants looks to be coming to an end having been left out of their Champions League squad.
The Croatian hitman has hit 44 goals in 162 games for Juve, winning four Serie A titles along the way, but Sarri has seemingly made his mind up about the veteran.
It’s claimed that United tried to sign Mandzukic over the summer, but his wage demands meant a move to Old Trafford ended up falling through.
United are now allegedly ready to have another go, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to add a new face to his strikeforce when the January transfer window opens.
Intriguingly though, The Mirror recently claimed that Mandzukic is West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini’s first identified target for the January transfer window, with the Hammers interested too.

Mandzukic would only be second-choice at either club, as he isn’t getting past Marcus Rashford or Sebastien Haller any time soon, but he almost makes more sense for United than West Ham.
Adding a physical, experienced target man would be great for United, offering another option from the bench, and they may now be favourites to land him over West Ham, especially with European football on offer.
