Manchester City target Erling Haaland will reportedly decide on his next club as a matter of personal choice, with the striker a fan of the Premier League giants when he was a kid.
According to the Athletic, the Norwegian international will have the final say over who he joins in the summer, with the report stating that City and Real Madrid are likely the two clubs that will battle it out for the Borussia Dortmund star.
As per the report, money is no issue for either side and Haaland’s decision will likely be down to personal preference, something that could give City an edge given the attacker’s links to the club.
Haaland was raised a City fan through his father, Alf-Inge Haaland, who played for the Manchester club for three years during the 2000s. And given these strong links to the Premier League club, they could be seen as favourites for the attacker’s signature.
Pep Guardiola has commented in recent days that City will need a striker for next season, and given Haaland’s incredible quality and potential, the 21-year-old is the likely favourite to come in this summer to lead the line for the English top-flight side.
