According to a report by Voetbal24, Manchester City are looking into signing Eden Hazard from Real Madrid as an alternative to Lionel Messi if they can’t land the Argentine this summer.
Messi has been on City’s radar for quite some time, and with the Argentine magician’s Barcelona contract up in the summer, it has been reported that Pep Guardiola could swoop.
However, there’s still the chance that he’ll stay at Barcelona, and even if he does decide to leave, City won’t be the only team keen on signing him, so they’ve got an alternative in mind.
The man they’re looking to is former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
No Premier League fan should need reminding what a good player Hazard is on his day, after all, he’s got 85 Premier League goals to his name, and he’s a former PFA Player of the Year winner.
Hazard hasn’t had the best of times since swapping Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu, and this report states that he now feels unwelcome in Madrid, claiming that in Spain they believe it is an inevitability that he leaves in the summer.

Whether or not a move to the Etihad comes to fruition remains to be seen, but signing Hazard would be a real statement of intent from Man City, and who knows, perhaps Hazard could finally add a Champions League medal to his collection at City.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
