According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Manchester City have now opened talks to try and win the race for Fluminense teenager Kayky.
A report from NETFLU earlier this week suggested that Liverpool had started negotiations to try and sign Kayky, but no proposal had been made.
It’s now suggested that City are looking to swoop in and hijack Liverpool’s talks by opening their own contact with Fluminense for the teenager.
City’s move would interestingly be a double deal; they also want to land Fluminense teammate Metinho, but would send him to one of their feeder clubs to begin with.
Shakhtar Donetsk have made an approach, and are willing to pay €20million (£18million) to sign Kayky, but Fluminense want more.
English clubs won’t be able to land Kayky until he turns 18 in June of this year, but the Brazilian Under-17 international now finds himself a wanted man.

The teenager is an exciting attacker who has been backed for a big future, hence the hefty price tag for his age, and City would no doubt love to beat rivals Liverpool to his signature.
Metinho is an interesting case; a player born in DR Congo but represents Brazil, and has even been compared to Paul Pogba, as noted in the Guardian back in October.
City have the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Fernandinho as well as youngsters such as Yan Couto and Diego Rosa, and will now hope to add to their Brazilian ranks with a double signing.
