Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon to permanently sell Spanish right-back Pedro Porro.
According to Record, the Portuguese giants have struck a deal with the Premier League champions for the 22-year-old. The defender joined Sporting in 2020 on a two-year loan move. And now the fullback is set to join the club permanently.
Pedro Porro has flourished with Sporting since arriving 15 months ago. So much so that City have included a €20m (£17m) buy-back clause in this deal in case the Manchester side opt to re-sign the defender.
However, despite flourishing with Sporting, the youngster has previously admitted that Pep Guardiola has never spoken to him. With the defender even saying that he is not sure that the Catalan coach knew that he had signed for the club.
Pedro Porro told A Bola: I’ve never spoken to Pep Guardiola. I don’t think he even knows they signed me. But they must be attentive to what I have been doing.”
Indeed, with City having a massive playing staff, it is perhaps reasonable to understand why Guardiola is yet to speak to Pedro Porro. But with the defender now leaving for good, the former Bayern Munich boss might never get the chance.
Pedro Porro must reject City approach if buy-back clause is activated

The Spanish defender has thrived since finding a home in Sporting. And for Pedro Porro, the fullback should be eager to improve on his game in Portugal as well as reject any approach from the Manchester side in the future.
We have seen how returning to City can be a poor idea. With Angelino making a comeback to the club in 2019 after his release clause was activated. Within 12 months, the Spaniard had already left for RB Leipzig, and Pedro Porro could fall into a similar trap.
