The Leicester City winger is reportedly read to move on so could Tottenham Hotspur get their man?

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez

According to a report from the Telegraph, Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is expecting Leicester City to honour their agreement to let him leave at the end of the season, with Tottenham Hotspur said to be very keen.

The Algeria international was outstanding in the Foxes’ title-winning campaign, and while he has tailed off this season he still possesses the innate talent to excel at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham need additional quality wide men and Mahrez fits the bill; his ability to both score and create exactly what Spurs need to ease the pressure on Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Mahrez has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists for Leicester this season, and he has a total of 35 goals and 25 assists for the reigning champions to date.

At 26, he is arguably reaching his peak, and he could be one of the marquee signings Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy needs to make to take his side to the next level both domestically and in Europe.

With no buy-out clause in the player’s contract, Tottenham will need to negotiate a fee for a player rated at over £30million according to the Telegraph.

Tottenham would be wise to pay that, rather than forking out the same amount on the erratic Wilfried Zaha.
